If you have missing teeth in your smile, our dentures are custom-made oral appliances created to replace those missing teeth, and like your natural teeth, they require proper care and maintenance to keep them looking and feeling their best. Our dentist, Dr. Michael McBride recommends the following tips when caring for your dentures:

  • Remember to handle your dentures carefully, as they are delicate and can break. So don’t drop them in the sink when putting them in!
  • When not wearing your dentures, you will want to keep them covered in water or a cleansing solution to prevent them from drying out.
  • Clean your dentures whenever you remove them, to prevent staining and to keep them clear from plaque and food debris. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to brush your gums, tongue, cheeks and roof of your mouth before putting your dentures in for the day. This will remove dental plaque and help prevent bad breath.
  • If you use adhesives with your dentures, be sure to follow the directions for their use exactly. We are happy to recommend the best cleaners and adhesives to use, and of course, always use a product that carries the ADA Seal of Acceptance to ensure that it is safe and effective.

Dr. Michael McBride and our team are pleased to help you take good care of your dentures and your smile. If you have any questions, or would like to schedule a consultation, please give us a call today at 760-471-1003, and learn how we can restore your healthy smile!
